Julie A. Mook, M.D.

Shreveport native Dr. Mook received her medical education at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport

and continued there to complete a five year surgical residency.

She is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

She then completed an additional year of fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. This training included further experience in genetic counseling, nipple and skin sparing mastectomy as well as management of benign and malignant breast disease.

She joins Breast Care Specialists committed to bring the latest in the treatment of Breast Cancer and Breast disease to our community.

She is Shreveport-Bossier’s first female breast surgeon and first fellowship trained Breast Oncologist.

Dr. Mook has made traveling medical missionary work an important part of her life.

She has traveled extensively during her training and continues that work today.
